MMDA PASIG FERRY SAILS TODAY
By: Online Staff
Posted : 3/5/2014
The Metro Manila Development Authority re-launches the Pasig River ferry boat to accommodate commuters who do not want to get stuck in traffic or are having a difficult time getting a ride to work or school.

The Pasig River Ferry shut down in 2011 due to financial losses and now the agency is reviving the transport system with a test run today from the old Guadalupe ferry station in Makati City until Escolta in Manila. The so called water taxi is actually a tug boat which was redesigned into a ferry with a 40 seating capacity and equipped with life vests. The revival of the ferry service is just one of the many proposed solutions to the worsening traffic problems in Metro Manila.
