MRT & LRT Fare Increase in August
By: Online Staff
Posted : 6/21/2013
Commuters should be ready to allot more than their usual budget for MRT and LRT fares after the Department of Transportation and Communications said there may be a fare hike 2 months from now.

The proposed rate adjustment first came out in 2011 but was postponed after the DOTC assured the public that they will improve the services of the trains first before giving the green light for higher fares. If the increase pushes through, train commuters will have to pay 20 pesos instead of the usual 10 pesos basic fare.
