As a new year begins, drivers of every kind flock to do what has become known to be a hallowed, and at times, hectic activity called "registration."

Though some people might cringe at the first thought of lining up along throngs of strangers (some downright nasty - I might add) at the local Land Transportation Offices, no driver in his sane mind would ever discount its importance.

As it has become regarded, registration is the lifeblood of the government's never-ending quest to track down stolen cars, imported Jaguars and aging Isuzus. And yes - that is important!

Cutting to the chase, here are some reminders drivers might want to consider on registration:

Drivers should remember that all motor vehicles must be registered on or before the last working day of the month corresponding to the last digit of the vehicle's plate number through the following scheme:

Plates ending in 1 (one) January
Plates ending in 2 (two) February
Plates ending in 3 (three) March
Plates ending in 4 (four) April
Plates ending in 5 (five) May
Plates ending in 6 (six) June
Plates ending in 7 (seven) July
Plates ending in 8 (eight) August
Plates ending in 9 (nine) September
Plates ending in 0 (zero) October

New or rebuilt motor vehicles should be registered on or before the seventh (7th) day following the date when they were purchased, acquired, or assembled; their subsequent registration shall follow the schedule mentioned above.

Renew your driver's license before your birthday (it's a pre-requisite to registering your car bub....)
