Transport Strike Cancelled

A transport groups cancels a transport strike following a dialogue with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, Department of Transportation and Communication and Land Transportation Office at Club Filipino in Greenhills yesterday.
Headed by the Alliance of Concerned Transport Organizations or ACTO, they threatened to go on a strike after the MMDA, DOTC and the LTO failed to come up with a final decision over the proposed unified traffic ticketing system in Metro Manila.
Under the current system, citation tickets are issued by different groups, which amkes it more confusing.
During the meeting, the MMDA Traffic operations Chief Angelito Vergel de Dios assured the transport sector that they are currently working with LGUs and other concerned agencies for a single ticketing system.
Other groups like Fejodap and Piston also clarified that they are not part of the planned strike by ACTO, while some questioned themotives of the group's president Efren De Luna.
