Several transport groups filed a petition yesterday before the Supreme Court to prevent the issuance of a Temporary Restraining Order against the Rdaio Frequency Identification Project of the Land Transportation Office.
Led by the Federation of Jeepney Operators and Drivers Association of the Philippines or FEJODAP, they expressed their support for the RFID saying the program will make it easier to get rid of colorum vehicles which has been plaguing them for long time.
FEJODAP is joined by Alliance of Transport Operators and Drivers Assocations of the Philippines or ALTODAP, Land Transportation Organization of the Philippines or LTOP, NTU-Transporter, Pasang-Masda Nationwide Inc. and Alliance of Concerned Transport Organizations or ACTO.
Fellow transport group PISTON and some party list groups earlier opposed the LTO project, saying it did not undergo a public bidding process.
