The Malacaņang defends the plans bared by the Metro Manila Development Authority to change the color of the agency's structures from pink to green, saying it sends out a message of conservation and ecology.
Deputy spokesman Gary Olivar also clarified that it is just a mere coincidence that the MMDA's Metro Green project and the signature color of the administration's standard bearer Gibo Teodoro are the same.
MMDA General Manager Robert Nacianceno revealed that green is the favorite color of the agency's new head, Oscar Inocentes.
The public will always remember former MMDA chair Bayani Fernando for his pink fences, urinals, footbridges and plant boxes which earned ire from critics who said using the color is a breach of the international standards for road signs and structures.
Meantime, the MMDA is still finalizing the design of the female urinal which will be set up around the metro soon, just like the pink male urinals.
Nacianceno assured the female commuting public that the facilities will be private and secured, with its own septic tank, good ventilation, clean water and toilet.
