The Metro Manila Development Authority reveals its contingency plan to ensure the smooth flow of traffic in Metro Manila amid the Christmas rush.
According to MMDA Chair Oscar Innocentes, traffic enforcers are set to work in shifts until 12 midnight or 2 am starting today until after the holidays.
This is to help ease traffic flow along the major thoroughfares with the influx of Christmas shoppers and people going to or coming from the provinces for the holidays.
The holiday traffic scheme will be backed by deploying additional traffic personnel and the agency's Rescue & Road Emergency Group will be on a 24 hour alert to respond to any type of road emergencies.
The MMDA will also be on the lookout for sidewalk vendors and colorum or out of line public utility vehicles.
