Not two but three bus companies whose units were involved in the road accident last Sunday in Lucena City will be served with a 30 day suspension order from the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board.
This is after the LTFRB discovered that the Lucena Lines bus was registered under JAC Liner.
The agency's Board member Elena Cabatu said 2 units of A. Bargais and 7 JAC Liner buses are grounded for a month, while there is no official word yet on how many buses will be suspended from Lucena Lines.
The head-on collsion between a Lucena-bound Lucena Lines bus and the Manila-bound A. Bragais Liner along the diversion road of the Maharlika Highway in Lucena City killed 9 people while 41 others were seriously injured.
Meantime, the LTFRB will now require city and provincial bus operators to let their drivers undergo a 3 day retraining at the University of the Philippines National Commssion on Transport Studies starting next month.
