A bus company loses its franchise after one of its drivers ran over a mother and daughter who were crossing the pedestrian lane near the Santolan flyover along EDSA yesterday afternoon.
The Jell Transport bus driven by Mario Villamar was picking up passengers when the incident happened.
The three year old girl died while her mother, Christine Jumabon, survived but had her arm amputated.
According to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, most of Jell Transport's buses have a history of traffic violations. The agency has ordered its owner Elena Ong to appear on a hearing on September 1.
