Beware: MMDA is Watching You

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority or the MMDA reveal their plans of installing several CCTV cameras along EDSA to keep an eye on buses that are overstaying in loading and unloading bays.

Their new eyes on the road is part of the agency's Enhanced Organized Bus Route program which aims to decongest traffic along the major thoroughfares of the metro.

MMDA Chair Bayani Fernando says there is no escape for drivers who violate the alloted 15 second time limit to pick up or unload passengers because they will be caught on camera.

He urged the drivers to follow traffic rules and regulations if they want to avoid getting a ticket or pay penalties.

Fernando stressed that buses overstaying in loading and unloading bays is one of the major causes of traffic congestion along EDSA.
