MRT-LRT-1 Project To Push Through

The Metro Rail Transit Extension project from North Avenue in Quezon City to Monumento in Caloocan City is all systems go.
This was confirmed by Press Secretary Jesus Dureza after the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority issued yesterday the appropriate documents including construction permits to the project officers and engineers.
The MRT-LRT-1 extension would cover at least five stations and is expected to be completed and operational by May 2010.
Three new stations will be constructed in Balintawak, Roosevelt/Muņoz and North Avenue, while the North Avenue station of the MRT and the Monumento Grand Central station of the LRT-1 will be undergoing improvements.
