LRT 1 and 2 Open Until 11 P.M.

Commuters can now utilize the The Light Rail Transit 1 and 2 until 11 pm starting tonight.
Officials of the LRTA announced the extension of its operating hours to help accommodate the high number of commuters who have turned to the public transport system to cope with the high cost of fare and oil products.
The number of commuters using the LRT dramatically increased by 5.4 million only for this month of August which is beyond their target of 5 million passengers. Car owners have resorted to communting and leaving their vehicles at home when gasoline prices reached to almost 60 pesos per liter.
Officials are expecting that around 20,000 passengers will benefit with the one hour extension.
